Originally conceived as a passive system, the SPL-TDl can also be easily configured as a two-way active (one amplifier for the 12-inch devices, one for the four 5-inch and the 1-inch), and three-way active (separate amplifiers for each of the three driver groups).
The SPL-TDl's flexibility allows these changes to be made very quickly, permitting any system to run in any mode depending on the application and level required. Full optimization data for most digital controllers is available so full advantage of the system's capability in clarity and peak output can be implemented efficiently.
The SPL-TDl was designed with versatility in mind. It incorporates a highly flexible integral rigging hardware and a pole-mount cup. Because there is minimal measured interference between boxes, both horizontal and vertical arrays can be formed with the SPL-TDl's close coupled for maximum throw without compromising the sound quality.
The SPL-TDl because of its exclusive true point source performance, provides the most integrated sound possible in a high performance sound reinforcement product. All of the drivers in the SPL-TDl load different parts of the same horn, therefore, one hears music emanate from one source, not a series of different sized horns and drivers combined to simulate a point-source.
